| My apologies to the public for making this Public category much smaller. The reason for doing this is that the members of Morelia's ex-pat social club Friendships Without Borders are afraid of such a large site and find all the forums that were previously open to them just too intimidating. I could only respond by making the site appear much smaller. They and you, dear public, still have open access to the Bienvenidos a Todos forum here and may post at will.
I am very pleased that when I announced I was opening a discussion and information group to specifically cover the Michoacán area that many excellent, knowledgeable, and talented Mexico bloggers came to join us here and have been contributing abundantly with their insights about living and travelling in Mexico. It is not my intent to take that information out of public view but to just make those big, scary doors go away for the timid users who are more comfortable with Yahoogroups popular but over-simplified and inadequate message boards.
Bulletin board systems such as this are much easier to use and much more effective than the Ygroups type but some people are afraid of any thing that is new to them. Still, everything on this site is available for those who may wish to register with us and then all the doors will once again open to them.
We would love to share information with you, that is our purpose. We invite you to register and have full access but if you decide for any reason not to do so then this forum is still open to you to post your comments, information, and ideas. More than anything else, we would really love to hear from you and are pleased you came as a guest to this site. Sorry for the inconvenience. -Peter

| I'm not sure why you feel the need to apologize, because from my point of view, you have put in a tremendous amount of work in developing this Foro. Also, it's a work in progress, and what you, (the visiting public) see now may not be what you see exactly the same way tomorrow. I think that this is exciting and invigorating, as well as beneficial for the mind.
The interface here has begun to emerge from its earlier format and is continuing to develop in a forward direction, to an even easier to use format. I hope visitors will be attracted to the topics here and will begin to contribute their own posts.

| Doesn't matter much, I opened some parts back up to public view. If this many forums and topics scare some people then too bad. I would rather share information and comments with everyone. I left this forum open for public comments so they can respond with their opinions anonymously. If they care to register then they can have the rest of the site, the un-moderated parts, opened up to them and be able to reply or start their own topics in all the forums.
Not easy to decide what is best for all concerned. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Well, here it is again for good or ill.
