Welcome to this forum, Amigos. I apologize that a new home remodelling project has kept me busy and away from posting regularly here lately. Hopefully soon I will find myself with more time to post to the board, perhaps with photos of the new project and some insights about doing these sorts of projects here. In the meantime I hope you find enough already posted to keep you occupied until then and hopefully you will have questions and comments of your own to post and perhaps sir up some new commentary.

All seems very quiet here in Morelia at present, with the exception of the question of outcome and procedure in some recent local and state elections. These have produced some interesting turns of events and put some of the elections in question so we are not completely sure who is running the show at present time. What comes next should be interesting.

Again, welcome, amigos.

Thanx Pete-

Looks like I'm signed in OK. I've been resting all day yesterday as I had a stomach virus. Today I feel alot better. I advised somebody on the other forum on sealing Exterior Wood and where to buy the Spar Marine Varnish with UV protection here in Mexico.

Dawg welcomes you back after your short respite, Peter. I have also been remiss in posting lately for various reasons. I´m off to Chiapas soon and will endeavor to post some observations about goings-on there shortly after a delay dictated by traveling time.

Glad to hear you're feeling better, David K., too bad you were out of it with a virus but appears it passed by quickly. You'll have to let the rest of us in on where you find the marine varnish in these parts. I'm sure you have plenty more construction tips to share and hope we can pick your brain for some of that on this board. Big welcome and glad you got registered in OK.
_______

Thanks, Dawg. I'm just getting started with the new casita so will be tied-up with it for awhile yet. It has a large garden and Tere wants to use some ideas she was inspired with after visiting your garden and home. We have a lot of modernizing to do on the house, while keeping it somnewhat rustic and traditional in appearance.

A new baño and washroom with a portales-like patio is going in alongside the garden. The house didn't have an aljibe, which is something we feel is necessary and are also putting in and that patio will be built over it. Also we want a traditional round oven that will use both gas and leña for baking pan and pizzas. It will be located at the end of the patio so it can provide warmth in these cold months, a necessary double-purpose on my mind at this time.

Careful on the road to Chiapas, Dawg. Stay safe. That new Arco-Norte highway makes the trip more pleasant and much quicker, I'm sure.
