Cheap, tasty food is still available here. You just may have to do without a few amenities. (There were spoons and napkins.)

Red pozole, my favorite. And that bowl looks very good. One thing I always liked about Pátzcuaro were the street food options around the plaza chica. We might consider spending a night or two at a hotel around the plazas again and take in the ambiance of Pátzcuaro. It makes for a nice mini-vacation close to home.

If we do that soon I will have to get a wide-angle lens for the camera then Tere and I will stop-off next to the mercado some evening and share a platter of chicken enchiladas. With just the two of us sharing a single platter there will be plenty of left-overs.

But, we regret that we cannot find Sra Margarita nor her stand...

Don Cuevas didn't mention what time of day, morning or evening. Sometimes it's more a matter of when than where with a floating stand.

Have you shared a platter of enchiladas yet, in the evening in front of the mercado at the Plaza Chica? It's not really something you can do alone.

Yes and yes, not a single person serving... as I recall more than Rosy and I could eat and about $40 or $50 pesos for each... I thought it very good, but I like pork... I believe they had no chicken when we were there...

and yes, timing can be everything... reminds me of several jokes and jack benny

I was there at Margarita's one morning, fairly early. I haven't seen her since. Sometimes these things are ephemeral.
