Has anyone seen an announcement of this year's dates for the Santa Clara del Cobre Copper Festival or the Paracho Stringed Instrument Festival? Traditionally both typically happen in August.

I had an answer for you but you came up with the same one by the end of your post, Agosto. Somebody must have the exact dates written down on their calendar somewhere but with four months or more away and another 50 or more festivals between now and then nobody is promoting them yet. We might start hearing about them here before the end of July.

Thanks for the reply, Peter! I was afraid that dates hadn't been announced as yet. We are working on an August trip and watching airfares. In the past, we have managed to miss both festivals and would like to catch at least the Copper Festival this trip. Given the airfare game, I doubt we will be able to wait until July to find out.

I'll try to find out more when I can. They are not known for making long-range announcements here. I suspect someone must know the exact dates though. My next-door neighbor is from Santa Clara and his family owns businesses there, he visits regularly. I will let you know.
